The Father and the Son

The Son is the perfect image of the Father, since He is the Word of the Father, the Word that is eternally begotten, eternally spoken.

There is perfect harmony between the Father and the Son because the Son eternally agrees with his Father.  The Son never speaks a word that is contrary to the Father’s word, since He would be denying his own nature.

The Father is love, light, truth and beauty.  So is the Son.

If we have “seen” the Son and truly believe in Him, we have therefore “seen” the Father and believe in Him as well (cf. John 14:9).  This reality, however,  implies another truth;  that if we believe in God the Father, we must therefore also believe in his Son and in everything that he speaks!

“God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten not made, consubstantial with the Father.” (Nicene Creed)
