God Teaches Fr. Bob Bedard.
In this episode of Magnificat Wonders, Marcel recounts the story of a lesson God taught Fr. Bob Bedard, Founder of the Companions of the Cross about prayer...but a kind of prayer he'd never done before. He followed the Holy Spirit's prompting and something wonderful ensued...
WARNING: The Danger of Late Nights.
When Fr. Bob Bedard - beloved founder of the Companions of the Cross - would come and visit us, he would never stay much later than 8:00pm. Many others who knew him would probably relate the same thing. Fr. Bob had a very special reason for being so faithful to this decision. Please view the video to find out why that was.
Give God Permission!
Many years ago, Fr. Bob Bedard, founder of the Companions of the Cross, made an important discovery; he realized that God actually wants to run His Church and that He can do a much better job of it than we can! The Lord then went on to give Him a parish and a simple plan for the renewal of this parish.
The Shepherd of Mercy.
The Shepherd of Mercy truly pursues us, wishing to bless us abundantly. This is why we can trust with great boldness and confidence that "surely, goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life" (Psalm 23:6). But, what is the actual, literal meaning of the word "follow" and what word do some translations add to this verse of scripture?
In this introductory video, we make the link between holiness and 2 ancient maps given by God to holy men and women throughout the ages. These maps will help you to: - Set your course properly. - Bring along the proper provisions for the journey. - Avoid pitfalls along the way. - Overcome challenges. - Take the most direct way to your ultimate destination and - Determine your progress. But there are 2 basic and indispensable elements needed to set us on this road to holiness...
Two Maps to Holiness.
Maps are indispensable in the temporal order of things, but they are also very useful in the spiritual life. God granted us two maps to help us on our journey; one called "The Three Ways", which dates back to the early centuries of Christianity and the other is called "The 7 Mansions of the Interior Castle", which was given to St. Teresa of Avila. These two maps have different ways of breaking down the journey to God, but they do dovetail quite nicely together and they both bring us to that wonderful union with God.
The Seven Mansions.
Thanks to St. Teresa of Avila, we have a 2nd map of the interior life, which is known as "The Seven Mansions", where a soul journeys through "mansions" or "rooms" towards the centre of an interior castle. In this video, we make the link between the map of the "Seven Mansions" and the map of the "Three Ways" (described in a previous video).
