Let it Rain!

Let it rain!  Let it rain!  Open the floodgates of heaven!

Let it rain! Let it rain!  Open the floodgates of heaven.......

Our last Gather evening on May 28th was so very beautiful and anointed.  The worship was strong and vibrant, and because of this, the prophetic word was very clearly released in the assembled group of worshippers.  We are sharing these words with you, because we believe - as we did that evening - that they are from the Holy Spirit and are meant to further bless us, encourage us and guide us.

Word # 1 - As you asked, here is a written account of the vision that came to me during the event.

I saw the world during a rain storm. Almost everyone was hurrying along, tucked under umbrellas and hoods, trying to avoid getting wet. Huddled together, cold and shivering as they rushed about their day. But there were some, children and adults, who simply stood in the downpour, faces turned to heaven, soaking in the rain. Laughing and splashing in puddles, hearts and bodies warm, not chilled by the storm.

I sensed that those avoiding the rain were using umbrellas and jackets as a barrier between themselves and the Lord. Maybe hiding in fear or because of the unknown. For some, the umbrellas represented sin, failure, the uglier parts of our humanity - that which separates us from God and even one another.

I felt God calling us to be like little children who love playing outside no matter the weather. Who jump in puddles and don’t care about getting wet. The rain in the vision represented God’s love, His mercy, a balm for our souls. We’re to open ourselves, physically and spiritually, spreading our arms and turning our faces to the sky to welcome and receive that love, that mercy.

Wednesday night I dreamt about the vision, and painted it in my dreams. I woke up, needing to paint it “for real”. It took a few tries for the watercolour to turn out as I imagined. I’m attaching a photo of the painting.

Word # 2 - I saw Jesus standing in the sanctuary and He was incredibly tall, His head almost touching the ceiling.  He raised His right foot and stamped it down on the floor, the force of which opened the heavens with confetti, covering Him all over.

He then raised His arms and swung His body from left to right which flung the confetti all over everyone present.  I saw someone take one confetti, they looked at it and read the word LOVE.  That person then ate the confetti. (Megean McBain)

Word # 3 - I saw the Lord breaking chains apart and sensed tremendous power emanating from this act, freeing people up. (Caroline Finol)

Word # 4 -The Lord wants to cover us with confetti but also wants us to dive in the deep water to cleanse us from inside out!
The power of a blue falling water, falls in the middle of the green forest. (Rosa Frias)

These are anointed words, just as we felt them to be so during our evening. They are an invitation to open up further to the Holy Spirit, to go deeper into all the beautiful things of God so that He can free us from what holds us back and deal with our fears.

What I find especially fascinating is that the Lord gave Carly the word during our evening but then obviously felt that this wasn't enough!  He decided to give her a dream to further drive the message home, and in her dream, gave her a vision about it too.  So both hearing and seeing!

Above all that, He also equipped her with the artistic gifting to share that vision with us, blessing us even more by encouraging us to really ponder this word, and by extension, all the other words of the evening.

God is good and His word is always alive and active, bringing forth new life in all those who long for more.

Isaiah 55:10-11

For, as the rain and the snow come down from the sky

and do not return before having watered the earth,...

so it is with the word that goes from my mouth:

it will not return to me unfulfilled

or before having carried out my good pleasure

and having achieved what it was sent to do.

This is one of the songs we sang during our evening of praise and worship to the Lord.
