"Giraffe Meat" Dream

Just last week, on February 2, 2026, Marcel and I made a pact that we would go to bed every night, asking the Lord to graciously speak to us through a dream, in order to receive guidance, wisdom, revelation and instruction from Him. As Psalm 16:7 says, "Even at night my heart instructs me" and the heart is where God speaks. Lo and behold, the Lord did indeed grant us a dream, but through Marcel this time! And what was the subject of the dream?...Giraffe meat!
This is how Marcel recounts his dream and the impressions he received during the dream:
I am "somewhere" with several other people, none of which I recognize or know. There is conversation among them, but I don't recall any specific words. The conversation centres on giraffe meat, which doesn't seem to appeal to them.

I see a label for "giraffe meat". It consists of a close-up image of a young giraffe; primarily its head. The giraffe appears to be kissing someone's cheek.

Even though these people are not partial to giraffe meat, I KNOW that giraffe meat is AMAZING, in fact a delicacy and quite special. Especially the NECK MEAT!
"What I understand from this dream is along these lines: The recent prophetic word on giraffes, sticking our necks out in faith, looking to the higher spiritual matters and such is 'MEAT' to feed on and to be nourished by. In fact, it is the best of meats and it is food that not everyone is willing to partake of. The Lord was letting me know that despite all this, we should keep sticking our necks out...in faith of course!
As usual, there is always so much depth to every dream and it's often difficult to either comprehend it all right away or to articulate the understanding that was given through the symbolic images but Marcel did understand the gist of the message God sent Him: that we must nourish ourselves on meat. But not any meat. Only the meat from the giraffe's neck, which means that we must nourish our spiritual lives with GREAT FAITH, a kind of faith that makes us sturdy, strong and mature in the Lord. When we stretch ourselves to reach higher - or deeper if you will - our lives are impacted, and this in turn impacts people around us.

But as God showed Marcel in the dream, not everyone is attracted to this delicacy, so not everyone is willing or able to reach up (neck) and make the effort of pursuing the higher things.

God also showed Marcel that this meat, with a label showing a giraffe kissing someone's cheek, is a sign of His covenant with us (kiss) and He wants us to know that when we feed on this covenant of love and friendship, we gain much strength and begin to walk more boldly and authoritatively in our identity as people loved, saved and redeemed by His Son Jesus, who sacrificed His own body on the cross to bring us into a life of great abundance, not only in Heaven but here on earth.

Because Marcel is simply observing what is going on, this means that God wanted Him to see a dynamic at work in His people and to thereby learn something about the state of spiritual things in our day and age. There is a message to this dream but no "solution" and when this happens, it usually means that God is showing us where things now stand in the present and is calling us to enter into conversation with Him to discuss the problem and learn what He has to say about it all.

We are living in a time when the solid meat of the gospel is not very palatable to those who are in the world, but also to many in the church. The "one thing necessary" is often pushed aside for things that are easier or more diverting and people never come to find out the amazing reality of God's covenant with them, a covenant that can make them strong in faith. We are called to pray for these people, just as we ourselves are called to enter more deeply into this incredible reality of a life of deep faith where the mountains of unbelief are uprooted and cast out of every area of our lives. To believe that God not only can, but does indeed want to effect change in such things as our hearts, our jobs, our families, our finances and our health issues, takes incredible faith and a deep knowledge of who we really are in Christ.

I have fed you with milk and not solid food, ["meat" in KJV] for you were not yet able to take it...

Hebrews 5: 13-14
Truly, no one who is still living on milk can digest the doctrine of saving justice, being still a baby. Solid food ["meat" in KJV] is for adults with minds trained by practice to distinguish between good and bad.

This dream is a follow-up to a word I received back in October 2025 where I saw a giraffe munching on some leaves high up in a tree. Since that time, we have had to update our post many times because so many of you are seeing giraffes and sharing your pictures!
