When you read scripture, have you noticed how important numbers are to God?  In the Old Testament we find a book that is actually called "Numbers".  We see God giving the dimensions of the ark to Noah, the dimensions for the tent of meeting and all the other objects associated with worship to Moses and the dimensions for the new temple to Ezekiel. Psalm 147:4 says that God counts out the number of the stars and Job 14:5 declares that all our days are measured out.  In the New Testament, Jesus assures us that every hair on our head is numbered (Luke 12:6) and the Book of Revelation is filled with symbolic numbers.  In fact, most disciplines that we engage in are filled with numbers; such as carpentry, medicine, music, computer science, engineering, agriculture and fashion, to name a few.

God loves to speak to us through numbers because these numbers aren't as random as we might think they are.  The living God, who made heaven and earth, uses numbers not by chance but by design, not haphazardly but with significance.  Every single number has a meaning, not only in creation, but in our personal lives as well.  God uses numbers to speak to us of His intentions and purposes for our lives as we go about our daily routine, but also in dreams as we sleep.

In our own lives, God has used numbers for years to send us His message.  In waking life, he has used a clock to let us know what "time" it was.  For example, in the past few years but especially in the most recent months, Marcel and I have seen 11 minutes after the hour dozens and dozens of times!  By this time it's probably in the hundreds.  Since 11 is the number of faith, God has been telling us that we are in a season (a time) where we need to hang in there in faith.  We've also seen 11:11 on the clock and that means God is insisting that we move in heroic faith, regardless of appearances.  As we've shared this with friends, we've become aware that some of them are experiencing the same thing, looking at the time and repeatedly seeing a particular hour or minute on their watch, clock or cellphone, but especially the number 11.

Back in mid-October 2022, I had a dream where all I saw was 17.11.  I was looking at it and I was declaring it out loud.  Since 17 is the number for victory and 11 is the number for faith, God was telling us that Marcel and I were entering a season where we needed to move in great faith in order to obtain a victory in three specific areas of our life.  We are still at it since we continue to experience these 2 numbers daily and hope to come into His promises very soon.

If you see numbers in your dreams or if you see them on a clock like we do, then know that these numbers are part and parcel of God's message to you to encourage, guide and lead you into the very meaning of the number.

Wisdom 11:20

You, however, ordered all things by measure, number and weight.

Who was it measured the water of the sea in the hollow of his hand

and calculated the heavens to the nearest inch,

gauged the dust of the earth to the nearest bushel,

weighed the mountains in scales,

the hills in a balance?
